More often that we ever expected we are asked, "What does Awaken mean?" or "Is there some deeper meaning to the name AWAKEN?" You would be absolutely correct if you guessed that there is a deep meaning to the name. Read below as Awaken Company owner, Anthony Roe explains:

I always get so excited when people ask me about the name Awaken, because this single word is so dear to my heart and means more to me than anyone will ever know! "The word first came to me when I was in a church service one night and 'Awaken' kept popping in my head. The word was unrelated to the message the pastor was preaching that night, but it just kept coming to me." Anthony explains. "At that time I was in and out of bands, writing songs for my solo project and so of course i was trying to think of how to work that word into the basis of a song or possibly come up with a band name that smartly incorporated that single yet powerful word!"

"But when I started designing some time later (after I hung up the dreams of a career in music) the name stuck with me in my heart. So from this point I started to pray about the name to see what God was showing me." After one super crazy dream concerning the name Awaken, I was convinced God placed this call on my life to reach out to people through the ministry of clothing and design to ultimately "Awaken" our generation in any way possible."

"Before I ever tell the story of God's vision for Awaken during this dream my eyes always fill up with these same tears and the power of this ministry just overpowers my body to let me know God is really up to something in my life!" Anthony proudly states. "The night that I prayed for a vision of 'Awaken' I had a dream that still sends chills up and down my body."

Anthony goes on to describe the content of this dream...."I was walking out of a church alone with a man that I had never seen before, he looked like what you would imagine a man like Moses or a great prophet from the olden days to look like. He lead me out the church doors leaving my friends / family and loved ones behind into the darkest and dreariest streets that I had ever seen. As we rounded a corner the man lead me into an overpass that exposed a vast sea of people that were buried alive under a thin yet en-prisoning layer of dirt. My heart immediately sank in my chest to know these people were dying yet no one was helping them. I turned to the man and asked him what he was trying to show me. Ever so calmly he said "These are your people and I ask you to Awaken them."

To me this dream shows the day to day struggle that we all go through by barely surviving while our lives are on the line. We are buried alive with something that is holding us back in our relationships with others, we aren't happy with life, we don't have the relationship we know we need to with God, and something isn't right in our lives. We need to be Awakened!! That's what Awaken Clothing is all about! Shirts like "Are You Awake" are meant as a movement amongst our supporters so we can rally together and help Awaken this generation and many more to come!

My heart fills with joy and hope for every single person that I or the Awaken Clothing supporters may get the chance to influence through this great platform of Awaken that God has instituted! Awaken Clothing wants to better life after life as long as God will allow this company to stay around! We want to see people living in victory and loving life more!
